map of connections: representing the story in space

MFA CREATIVE PROJECT, UF, 2010-2011

One of the materials I created as part of my MFA Creative Project is the Map of Connections (60x80inches). It represents Space, as one way to tell the story of the Asociación de Damas de la Isla de Chira.

In the map, we can see different levels of information and different connections between the women of the association and different entities, groups, and individuals of the island (geographically located in the map), and how they relate with women and their ecotourism project, in the center of map. This map is also composed by keywords, personal observations, and thick descriptions. It was produced in spanish, because my main audience is women in rural areas of Costa Rica and Latin America.
